The "I" bullet
In watching some of the accuracy testing videos on YouTube of the TC Renegades with the I bullet, results are impressive. I am trying to find out who manufactures the mold or if it is a custom mold. If it is a custom the specs would be awesome if you are willing to share the data. I have a 54 Renegade that I would be interested in running them in as well as a .50 if you run one of those also.
Thanks in advance

IdahoLewis designed the I molds on Accurate Molds web site. I know he has designed one for the 45, 50 and 54 caliber. I personally bought the 45-340I mold and love it !! Do a search an accurate molds web site and you will find them.

I can't swear all of these are Lew's designs but I'm pretty sure the first and last one is.

I picked up a 415i from accurate molds and am currently working with it in a cva optima. Presently its showing promise in a traditions buckhunter 50 cal pistol using 70gr T73f, .54 op wad and a cci musket cap but still experimenting.

Re: The "I" bullet
I have the 515 grain mold for my 54 and the 450gr for my 50 so far I’ve only shot the 54 bullets and I’m nothing short of impressed to say the least. I did get mine from accurate molds, they’re super good quality. I specified what lead I was using (dead soft) and .000”+.002”, but they are usually spot on. My bore is .540” so I specified that I wanted .542” and they drop right on the money

Re: The "I" bullet
Question for all you knowledgeable fellas, What kind of accuracy can I expect with a 1-48 twist compared to the 1-24 twist using the 450s paper patched bullet?
Have there been any tests to determine why theres a difference in accuracy between the two twist rates using the same bullet?
Our 50 cal TCs have 1-48 and I want to squeeze as much accuracy as I can out of these rifles. I'm debating if I should buy a 1-24 twist given that I'm shooting that paper patched bullet.

Idaho shoots some tiny groups with his factory t/c 1-48" barrels and his I bullet in his you tube videos. Not sure if I saw any with paper patched projectiles however. Thinking of getting a .54 & .50 I bullet mold for my 1-48" rifles. After watching his videos I'm not sure I need a 1-24" anymore.Grant Northcott wrote:Question for all you knowledgeable fellas, What kind of accuracy can I expect with a 1-48 twist compared to the 1-24 twist using the 450s paper patched bullet?
