From Michigan's Northern Lower Peninsula
My name is Scott and I'm a retired IT professional from Central and Northern Michigan. I've been muzzleloading since about1980. I had the chance to teach muzzleloading skills to people of all ages in the Boy Scout program, Michigan's Hunter Safety program, and individually at the range or in hunting camp for a good portion of those years. I have a strong interest in the history of firearms and have made presentations to historical groups, service organizations, and at few local gun shows. My favorite time of year is Muzzleloading Season at the "Logpile", hunting deer with friends and family at deer camp for a couple of weeks. This past season was spent hunting with a .58 caliber Trail Guns Armory (Pedersoli) Double caplock rifle which belonged to a very close hunting friend who passed away the year before. He was greatly missed at camp but carrying his rifle brought back memories of the many years we have hunted together.

I joined this forum because I was impressed with the positive attitude of Lewis's postings on another forum and his willingness to share his knowledge and experience with others. From what I have seen so far, he clearly has the heart of a teacher and the mind of an engineer. I can appreciate the skill demonstrated in Lewis's long range videos using a muzzleloader. Although I was not using a muzzleloader, I had participated in the Service Rifle Matches at Camp Perry for over twenty years and shot out to 600 yards using peep sights. It's a challenge. I'm looking forward to advancing my understanding of muzzleloading and accuracy shooting through this forum and may actually feel like participating in positive discussions on topics of interest.
