Picked up another toy for my wife yesterday!
My wife needed a new TC 50 cal. I found one in pristine condition and picked it up for 500.00 CDN. I bought her one last year from a pawn shop and an online gun trading site. When it was delivered, we discovered that the barrel had a small bulge just behind the rear site. it looks like someone didn't seat the bullet down on the powder charge properly although It didn't appear to affect the accuracy of the rifle, at the same time, I would have much preferred to see her with a good barrel to start her in this sport. I conducted a good inspection of the new rifle and note that the barrel is in perfect condition the lands are mirror-like, and the rifle is well worth the purchase price. I also was given a box containing odds that go with the rifle including an orange can of black powder called "Meteor" sporting powder...about 80 .495 ball and some Remington percussion caps
as well as 6 nipples.

Well if you have a decent gunsmith around that tinkers in muzzleloaders you may be able to get that first barrel bored out to .54 cal and rifled.

Hello, Bronko we have a gunsmith in Edmonton but he'd charge more than what a new GM barrel would cost. I'm thinking it's now a boat anchor.
