Barrel question
Actually any chrome-moly metal. I have a "project" barrel that had a pitted bore so I sent it out to Mr. Hoyt to have it bored out, relined to .45 and a 1:20 twist. I want to draw file it and was thinking of reblueing or duracoating it but now I'm considering keeping it in the white. Is there any special treatment needed other than keeping it coated with a rust preventative?

Re: Barrel question
an old timer (Kenny Bugg) who got me into muzzleloaders back in the 80's said to run your hand up and down barrel till you get desired rust/look then oil. how long does it take? never had the patients (bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint) to wait.

Re: Barrel question
I found out today that durakoat has a clear metal finish that will give the appearance of SS. I'm undecided to keep it in the white or blue it. Not going to brown it. That's for sure.
