Think this will work?
I'm having an issue getting my vernier tang sight low enough to use my .852" globe sight. I'm thinking of buying this item to elevate my globe front sight. My plan is to fit this dovetail into the barrels dovetail and file a dovetail into the top of this in effect making it a riser block.
I can do the work but my thoughts are that the sights may be too high. Judging by the dimensions I figure this base once the dovetail is in it will raise the globe sight another 0.3" giving me a total height of the globe at 1.15".

That's an idea. Remember to measure twice and cut once.
