Source of pure lead.

So where do you source soft lead? I just bought 10lbs for 30 bucks shipping included. Here's the hard part I have 500lbs of wheel weights. Great for my ruger #3 in 30-40 krag or 308, 35 Remington and my 41 mag wheelgun but not muzzleloaders. The lead I bought is plumbers lead.

local recycler. I get it for a buck a pound. I like the harder solder joints, runs around 7.5 bhn. The lead pipe I get is in the 5.5 - 6 range. Been slaying bucks and elk for years with them.

I'll have to check into the local recycler. That sounds like a good start.

Roofing companies usually collect roofing lead from homes that they re-roof. I've been very lucky to find lead from roofers.
