Crossbow Broadheads Empty Crossbow Broadheads

What is everybody’s favorite broadhead with a crossbow? I want to get them for my 16yr old grandson for Christmas and I want to ensure they make a big hole for an easy blood trail and are reliable. He’s harvested a couple of deer with a fixed 3 blade broadhead and while he recovered the deer the blood trail took us awhile to find the deer.

Ed, I use with great success Muzzy three blades @ 100 grains and Rage two blade expandable @100 grains. The Rage heads leave a hole that is huge. I have one Rage head that took three deer already. I take them apart to sharpen them. Did I mention I’m cheap?

Old post but thought I'd add my 2 cents.
I use Swhacker heads and or Slick Tricks, depending on price.
Either one are proven deer killers with my Excalibur crossbows.

Ed old boy its hard to beat the Rage 2 blade for deer. They fly great and do a lot of damage when they get there. I use the Hypodermics. but be sure to get the ones designed for crossbows (I'm not sure about the newer ones that don't use the collar if they are good for both compound and crossbow).
Slick Tricks are great too but don't do as much damage as the Rage. Even with a crossbow I try to avoid the shoulder even though I'm pretty sure either broadhead will go through it.
