Vernier sights
Is there a model specifically for T/C Hawkens rifles or does one have to alter the base or shim it to get the aperature perpendicular to the bore?
i sent a question into Dixie Gun Works last week but they never replied.

TC did make a short vernier style tang sight. You could always contact Lee Shaver about his vernier sights. Lewis has at least one of his rifles set up with one from Lee

I was wondering if Lew was going to answer this thread. I looked at the Shavers sights and no model is listed for the Hawken.
That's why I'm asking if it was altered or shimmed for correct alignment.

I’m not 100% but I think Lee will make the proper base for one of his vernier sights to fit. Lee is a heck of a nice guy to talk to. Look up his site and get the number to call

Other than the Factory TC Vernier, there is not a High end Vernier style Sight made specifically for the TC Hawken’s or Renegade Tangs, at least that i have ever heard of, or seen? When i bought mine from Lee Shaver he shipped them with a Ballard Base i believe it was? I had to Drill & Tap Holes for them

Drilling and tapping the holes is no problem Lew. I've done it several times before. Thanks.

With the Shaver Long Range Soule Tang sights i didn’t use the existing rear Tang hole like i do with the Lyman 57SML and the Williams FP Hawken, That screw is a Course Wood screw. I drilled and Tapped 2 Fresh Holes, Shaver sends these out with Machine Screws.
The staff of Shaver sights are easily adjusted forward and back with a Small screw.
