Knight won't group
Looking for ideas, on different bullets. I've tried several different sabots, an different weight bullets, thinking of going to full bore lead? Thanks lonewolf

Not much to go on here. What caliber, what bullets, what powder/charges. A little more detail. I assume you're using a scope. If so, what kind and are the bases and rings tight? Did you try the rifle with the open sights if so equipped? Also how bad is it grouping and what are your expectations?
More details please.

It's a 50 cal 1/28 I've shot power belts, maxi ball, 250,295, up to 300 gr bullets in sabots it'll kill deer but just not a tack driver , 80 to 150 gr pellet an loose goex, Jim Shockley, ttt7, thinking about a bigger cast bullet no excuse or order a accurate mold .

Re: Knight won't group
What size groups are you talking about? I haven't seen a 1:28 barrel that didn't shoot good with a 300 gr bullet and 80 - 100 gr of Pyrodex RS or Goex FFg.
I shoot the Barnes 290 gr TMZ with 100 gr of Alliant Black MZ (no longer available) out of my Knight Disc Extreme and it shoots great.
I never liked pellets. Each muzzy is different which is why I have a supply of Pyrodex RS and P, Triple 7 FFg, Goex FFg and FFFg, Swiss 1 1/2F, and Alliant Black MZ and bullets from 200 - 500 gr.
Did you try another scope? That could be the issue!?!?! Take it off and shoot the open sights at 50 yards.

Re: Knight won't group
It's not scope, it'll shooting dead on then it's high left or high right, never a good group maybe 3" why I thought about a heavier bullet?

Re: Knight won't group
Many muzzys need to be shot with a fouled barrel. But that being said, if your first shot is dead on that's good for hunting. If you're target shooting that's another animal. Are you swabbing between shots? Is your charge compression consistent? Are you resting the forearm on the bags at the same spot and are you shooting with the same cheek weld and grip? Sorry for all the questions but without being there its hard to determine what the issue is.

Re: Knight won't group
Hello, my traditions wouldn’t group with 250gr sabots but I went to a 300 and now it’s a 1/2” or less at 100 yards. Every gun is different mine likes the 300gr yellow smack downs. I shoot 75gr by weight 2f 777 (loose of course and 100gr unsettled) and on the range I clean between every shot. While hunting I can get 3 shots off before I can’t stuff another one down but I never need a second shot. I had a problem with this gun and the scope it came with. The scope was cheap and in a short time failed so I got a vortex and problem solved. This may not be the case for you. For me to use my 450gr i bullet I have to get a new sizer and size it down more good luck

Re: Knight won't group
Lonewolf I forgot to mention about using a lubed felt under the lead bullet too. I use a slightly oversized one to help seal better and protect the base of the bulled (very important) Where’s I make my own they’re 1/4” thick (probably overkill I know) they only need to be 1/8” thick. But you will have to slug your barrel though. you’ll want it any where’s from .001”-.003” over bore diameter. You may want more but the bigger they are the harder they go down. I think no excuses makes a trial pack with a bunch of different sizes and they can make you just about any size you want. Mine like .496”-.497” go figure. Have fun happy shooting

Re: Knight won't group
I have had good luck with 75-85 grs t7 and 495 no excuses with musket cap. If I go over 85 the groups get awful quickly. Mine is a stainless mk85.
