My daughter and her family take long trips all the time with their Tesla. They have no problems. Going to a charging station and "filling up" only takes about 15 - 20 mins. No longer than a family would take to stop for gas and visit the restroom or get snacks or a meal.
I do agree that EVs are not for everyone and my problem is more focused on this administration raising gas prices intentionally to have people think about buying EVs. Problem with this thinking is that the power grid in this country could not handle all these EVs plugged in at night, especially in the summer time when we already get brown outs just from turning on AC units.
