Re: Hopkins and Allen
I have had this for a while trying think what to do with it, it has a hammer spring that is to strong to cock , like it may be one for rifle. I have been told to file a notch down center of spring would weaken it but it only one I got lol . Any ideas

I would remove the spring take measurements including spring weight you may be able to find a matching spring in a lighter weight. Try removing one coil at a time then try it out.

Very interesting so is it a formed flat spring? Any pics would help, I'm confident the designer of said pistol had to have a process for tuning it.

Looking at the spring/trigger guard, two things come to mind. Try a washer under the screw that holds the spring. If that does nothing remove the spring and try bending it in various ways to see if a shape change does anything. If you can find a blacksmith they may know how to change the temper of the spring to lessen the strength or make a less rigid spring.
