White Thunder shotgun
I had a chance to try a few patterns with my Thunder Shotgun. I picked it up locally last fall and had yet to shoot it. My loads were out of Doc’s recommended load chart. 90 grn of Goex Ole E 1-1/2 fig followed up by 2 1/8” wool wads BPI 12 ga shotcup sides split 1/2 way 1.5 oz #6 copper plated lead finally 2 thin over shot cards. Full choke tube installed. I’m pretty satisfied for a first go. Out to 30 yards the Thunder Chickens will be in Danger! I think

Nice pattern. Definitely thunder chicken medicine for sure. And probably a bit farther than 30 yards. If you have it available try some #5s in it.

I’ve got a small amount of #5s. I will probably try at least one load for pattern but save the rest of the #5 for hunting.

By the looks of the snow load you've got, we won't be giving any turkeys a head ache until May!

It’s sure looking that way, This has been a Cold Winter, What Snow we have will likely stick around awhile, Making Mountain Road travel impossible. That said, The early season is AWSOME, even with lots of Snow, These Birds have had a LONG Winter and they are anxious at the Start of Spring, I can hear them that time of year outside my Door here in Town in The Mornings, They get FIRED Up at Daylight We will play it by ear and see what happens? Cmon Spring! I’m Rooting on ya!!
