They are slightly oversize, This helps create a Good Seal. The Base of the Bullet is what actually Steers it, You want to protect your Bullet Bases

I am using a 1-1/4 inch for .50 & .54 Cal, I use a 1” inch for .45 Cal. A 1-1/8” inch might be better for .50 Cal, I prefer a Shorter Patch that doesn’t Grab my Short Starter
