Tingle Target Rifle .45cal
Selling a beautiful Tingle Target Rifle ( Hawken Style ) .45cal! No. 614 - This is a very early model from Tingle that dates back to the early 1960's.
This Rifle is equipped with a 32" Douglas barrel that measures 32" long and is 15/16" across the flats. This barrel has a 1:52 twist with between .012 - .013" rifling.
Length of pull: 14 1/2"
Lacquered American walnut stock with concave cheek piece, brass trim and a factory poured Pewter nose cap. Overall length is 48" - 8lbs 11oz ( On my scale )
Lock and triggers works perfectly. The lock is Tingles own design, and uses a coil main spring and double set triggers with NO fly ( Pull the rear trigger first to set ) Many companies such as Lyman and TC copied this design later on.
This rifle actually uses a removable breech plug! And yes, I've taken it out easily with a simple ratchet. Be sure to lube prior to use! Drum clean out screw is also free and easily removed.
This rifle originally had a hawken style adjustable rear sight similar to what we'd find on original hawken rifles ( Note the 2 screws on the barrel flat ) The previous owner didn't like the factory sight, and opted to have a gunsmith cut a dovetail and install the more user friendly rear sight.
On the lock side, at the toe of the butt plate, theres a tiny crack. This crack does not go all the way through to the other side! It looks like they had the angle of the screw at a steeper angle and cracked the wood due to the thin area. They re-centered it and everything feels solid.
This is a factory built rifle, not a kit gun.
Bluing i'd say is at least 85%. Some very minor scratches here and there on the barrel. Nothing deep!
A solid looking rifle inside and out!
Asking $700 shipped. I ship UPS Ground, with insurance.
This pic shows the small crack at the toe.
The Bore is in beautiful shape, as you'll see!
