Re: Bullet mold not filling out
With the Mold CLOSED, Dip the Bottom of the Mold Blocks in the Molten Lead/Alloy and let them Soak for 7-8 Minutes, Use a Timer so you know exactly how long. I know it gets old Sitting there Holding the Mold that long, But that is the way i did it for Years with STELLAR results, I switched to the 2 Torches about a year ago and it works Far & away better

Re: Bullet mold not filling out
What you want to do is get the Mold slightly over-heated, and as you cast 4 to 5 Bullets the Mold will Cool down and enter “The Zone” This is where you will get OPTIMUM Fill out. I do this With the Sprue Plate left open, Quickly Cast 4 to 5 Bullets and dump them as quick as they harden good (about 5-6 Seconds after the Top Solidifies) Now Swing the Sprue Plate Closed and Start Keeping

If you follow the advice i gave above i am Confident your problem will go away.
Your new BACO Mold Came with a “Proof Bullet” Didn’t it? I can assure you That Bullet was cast with the Mold at the Correct Temperature

Definitely give it another try When i say let the Mold soak for 7-8 Minutes i mean Just that, I have timed it MANY times. Use a Cheap kitchen Timer or similar so you can be exact. My Iron/Steel Accurate Molds take a Full 8 Minute soak, My BACO Molds are right in that same time, at least 7 Full Minutes. Dunk the Bottom of the Mold Halves about 1/4 the way up, Push the timer button and Patiently wait. This is the reason i went to the 2 Torch method, It takes about 2-1/2 Minutes to accomplish the same thing.
The above is for an Iron/Steel Mold, I can’t speak for Aluminum as i rarely use them anymore
If you follow the above, this is what you can get

I have to do the above with EVERY Mold i own, it is the ONLY way to get optimum Fill out. You might think that your others are filling out fine, But i can assure you they aren’t.
In short, If you and i were casting from the Same Lead Pot, and you Cast 20 Bullets using your method, and then i grabbed your Mold and i casted 20 Bullets using my Method i can GAURANTEE you that my 20 Bullets will be Heavier, simply because i am getting optimum Fill out and you are not

You aren’t, you might think you are, but I assure you that you’re not
Here are a few of the 750s that you sent me (i just now went and dug them out of my Scrap lead pile) These were so far out that i didn’t even bother with them, these are 10 FULL Grains apart which is a HUGE Variance. For my strict standards these are totally unacceptable, I Cast these BIG Bullets to no more than 1 Grain of eachother, And i do so by the method i am trying to teach you above. If you will listen to me and follow what i am trying to teach you, You will be casting the same HIGH Quality Bullets that i am
