Vernier sight problem
Well that didn't work! I ordered a Pedersoli U436 vernier tang sight for my T/C Hawken along with a .484" globe front sight. I installed the globe sight after the customary filing to get it to fit just right and then drilled and tapped the tang for the vernier sight. After installation it was obvious that I definitely needed a higher front sight. The vernier wouldn't go down near far enough! I even removed the sight and drilled another hole for the front screw and utilized the rear wood screw on the tang and was still too high. So I went to midwayusa.com and ordered a new .850" globe. I'm hoping that does the trick. In the mean time I installed the Lyman 57SML onto the tang to see how my new barrel shoots.

If you visited Lee Shaver website you would not have this problem , he can sell you what you need for a TC Renegade, the Hawken is to hurtful on my shoulder .My Renegade with a 1 inch barrel across the flats (Rice 32 inch barrel )weighs 12LBS )with a mercury reducer installed in the stock , 80+grains OE 1 1/2F under a 530 gr PP bullet gets your attention even set up like that . I bet the curved but plate with the lighter Hawken /barrel will be right interesting!
